Terms of Use
Effective: August 30, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the CardAlign iOS app and related services. By tapping “Agree and Continue,” purchasing or using grading credits, or otherwise using CardAlign, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Relationship to Apple’s license terms
These Terms supplement, and do not replace, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement that applies to apps obtained through the App Store. Apple is not a party to these supplemental Terms. If a provision conflicts with Apple’s Standard EULA or mandatory law, the Standard EULA or mandatory law controls to the extent of that conflict. Read Apple’s Standard EULA.
Eligibility and acceptance
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. CardAlign’s photo features are available only to users aged 14 or older. By tapping “Agree and Continue,” you confirm that you are at least 14 and legally able to provide the required agreement; users under 14 may not use photo capture, import, or photo-based assessment.
Service and product boundary
CardAlign is a card condition review and pre-submission preparation assistant. It provides photo-based centering, guided corners, edges and surface review, human-confirmed evidence records, and explainable simulated grade references.
CardAlign does not provide:
- Official card grading or a guaranteed grading outcome
- Authentication or counterfeit detection
- Price appraisal, investment, or trading advice
- A professional recommendation about whether to submit a card
Photo features and evidence retention
Photo capture, import, and photo-based assessment require upload and retention of card images and related detection information after you accept the current Terms and Privacy Policy. These records are used to provide and verify results, preserve evidence integrity, secure and support the service, and handle disputes. If you do not agree, those photo features are unavailable.
The Privacy Policy explains the data involved, service providers, retention, deletion requests, and your choices. Read the Privacy Policy.
Your content and permission to process it
You retain ownership of card photos, annotations, confirmations, and other content you provide. You represent that you have the rights needed to provide that content. You grant CardAlign a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited license to host, copy, transmit, process, and retain it only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for limited copies that must temporarily remain for backups, security, legal compliance, or an active dispute.
Backups and exports
An exported .cardalignbackup file may contain card images, history, recognition results, and reports. CardAlign does not additionally encrypt this file. You are responsible for keeping exported backups and reports in a trusted location and for copies you share or upload elsewhere.
Measurements and simulated references
Results depend on photo quality, lighting, perspective, card design, border visibility, reflections, sleeves, model limitations, and your confirmations. CardAlign may miss, misclassify, or inaccurately measure visible details and cannot evaluate defects that a photo does not reveal. Do not use a CardAlign result as the sole basis for a transaction, submission, price, dispute, or other high-stakes decision.
You are responsible for reviewing candidate areas and the final evidence record. You must not intentionally omit, substitute, alter, or misrepresent evidence or present a CardAlign simulation as an official grade or authentication.
Grading credits and in-app purchases
- Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. The price and included credit quantity shown in the App Store purchase sheet at confirmation control the transaction.
- The current release offers consumable grading-credit packs, not auto-renewing subscriptions. Purchased pack credits do not expire, but are reduced when used and may be adjusted for refunds, chargebacks, duplicate crediting, or fraud.
- CardAlign has no user account. Credits are associated with pseudonymous app or device records and verified purchase history; changing devices, reinstalling, or losing local state may require purchase synchronization and support verification.
- If Apple confirms a purchase but credits do not appear, use “Sync Purchases” in the app before purchasing again, then contact support if the issue continues.
Refund eligibility and decisions are handled by Apple under its rules and applicable consumer law. An approved refund may remove the corresponding unused credits or adjust the balance. Request a refund from Apple.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse CardAlign, interfere with security or service operation, access data that is not yours, upload unlawful or infringing content, automate abusive requests, evade credit or purchase controls, reverse engineer the service except where law expressly permits it, or use CardAlign to deceive another person.
CardAlign rights
CardAlign and its software, interface, branding, documentation, and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited rights provided by Apple’s Standard EULA and these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. Third-party card names, artwork, brands, and grading-company marks belong to their respective owners; reference to them does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Third-party services
CardAlign relies on services such as Apple, RevenueCat, Sentry, and hosting or object-storage providers. Their availability and separate terms or policies may affect purchases, diagnostics, uploads, or support. CardAlign is not responsible for third-party services beyond what applicable law requires.
Availability, changes, and termination
We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, address abuse, or improve the service. We may restrict access when you materially violate these Terms or threaten the service or other users. Where reasonably possible, changes affecting purchased unused credits will be handled in a way consistent with applicable law. Keep your own backups of important photos and exported reports.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CardAlign is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate for every card or image. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CardAlign is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or commercial losses arising from reliance on simulated results, loss of local records, unavailable third-party services, or inability to use the service. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
Applicable law and disputes
Mandatory consumer law and Apple’s Standard EULA continue to apply. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from using a court, regulator, or dispute process available under mandatory law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product, purchases, providers, or law changes. We will publish the revised date. If a material change affects photo evidence, purchased credits, or your rights, CardAlign will provide an appropriate notice and request renewed agreement where required.
